SWEET!!!! In my City as well. Seems like the MLS All-Star team is playing England's own West Ham, which happens to be my Uncle and Cousins favourite team. I Hope the tickets are available for this... I wanna be there front row.. 2 Hot Men in my town playing Soccer.. WOOT WOOT.

TORONTO — Los Angeles Galaxy stars David Beckham and Landon Donovan headlined the roster for the MLS All-Star Game, which will be played July 24 in Toronto against the English Premier League club West Ham United.

The first 11 players were chosen based on voting by fans, players, media and coaches/general managers. Donovan led in aggregate votes, while Beckham had the edge in fan voting.

The league-leading New England Revolution on Thursday claimed three of the 11 early roster spots for the game -- defender Michael Parkhurst, midfielder Shalrie Joseph and goalkeeper Matt Reis.

Also selected to the team were defenders Jimmy Conrad of the Kansas City Wizards and Frankie Hejduk of the Columbus Crew, midfielders Cuauhtemoc Blanco of the Chicago Fire, Sacha Kljestan of Chivas USA and Robbie Rogers of Columbus and forward Kenny Cooper of FC Dallas.

New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol will fill out the roster Tuesday with five more selections. [SOURCE]

GAY MAN SUES BECAUSE OF THE BIBLE

Talk about a gay man being scorned.. In this case a gay man is suing two heavyweight Christian publishers, claiming their versions of the Bible that refer to homosexuality as a sin violate his constitutional rights and have caused him emotional pain and mental instability.

Bradley LaShawn Fowler of Canton, Mich., is seeking $60 million from Zondervan, based in Cascade Township, and $10 million from Nashville-based Thomas Nelson Publishing.

"The Court has some very genuine concerns about the nature and efficacy of these claims," the judge wrote.

Fowler, 39, alleges Zondervan's Bibles referring to homosexuality as a sin have made him an outcast from his family and contributed to physical discomfort and periods of "demoralization, chaos and bewilderment."

The intent of the publisher was to design a religious, sacred document to reflect an individual opinion or a group's conclusion to cause "me or anyone who is a homosexual to endure verbal abuse, discrimination, episodes of hate, and physical violence ... including murder," Fowler wrote.

Fowler's suit claims Zondervan's text revisions from a 1980s version of the Bible included, and then deleted, a reference to homosexuality in 1 Corinthians without informing the public of the changes. [SOURCE]

Eeek.. Well.. If it is true that the companies changed the wording to include Homosexuality then he may have a case. However, taking this to court may be a tricky thing.. Especially for the amount he wants to be compensated. This dude is totally milking it with the compensation amount. Interesting...

MANCHESTER GRAND HYATT GAY BOYCOTT

Who Doesn't Love a Good 'Ol Boycott. Owner of the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, Doug Manchester, is being slammed by Gay Right Supporters. Seems that Doug contributed $125,000 to Proposition 8, an amendment to ban same-sex marriage on the November ballot, which is not sitting well with the gays.

Organizers of the campaign, which is expected to be announced at a news conference today, say they believe it is the first time that gay rights supporters have boycotted a business whose owner seeks to ban same-sex marriage.

Leaders will urge the public to avoid the downtown hotel because they say that support for Proposition 8 amounts to unfair treatment of gays and lesbians.

“Manchester's contribution to this anti-marriage initiative is discrimination plain and simple,” said Brigette Browning, president of Unite Here Local 30, which represents 4,500 hotel and restaurant workers. [SOURCE]

Hmmm.. We will have to keep our eyes on this boycott and see how it does. I agree! Why should i give my money to a company who is against my rights. I hope this has a negative impact on the hotel!!! Is That Bad To Say?

U.K.: LEGITIMISED HOMOPHOBIA??

Across the big pond in the U.K., upset has occured with the gay community. A court ruled in favour of Lillian Ladele, who claimed that she was discriminated against because of her religion when she refused to conduct civil partnership ceremonies while employed by Islington council.

Peter Tatchell, the gay rights and human rights campaigner, said that the ruling in favour of Lillian Ladele is "a dangerous subversion of the democratic principle that everyone should have equal rights and responsibilities under the law."

"The tribunal has ruled that people of faith are above the law," said Mr Tatchell.

"They can plead conscientious objection and be exempt from the laws that apply to everyone else.

"If this judgment stands, it will pave the way for religious people to have the legal entitlement to discriminate on conscientious grounds against people of other faiths, unmarried parents and many others who they condemn as immoral." [SOURCE]

Wow, this is insane.. What Tatchell is saying is true. He goes on talking about how Firemen, cops and other public services can soon deny help to those gays in need if their religious rights are againt homosexuals. CRAZY STUFF PEOPLE!!

JANET AND MEL B DUET TOGETHER RUMOUR: SQUASHED!

Alright, So I am a HUUUUUGE Janet Jackson fan.. Maybe not as much as Shania Twain but still a HUUUGE one.. They are Neck to Neck.. With Shania's Nose giving her the Lead.. Ha Ha Ha

Back on June 19th, Mel B (a.k.a. Scary Spice) sat down with GMTV for a Q&A. In one of the questions she was asked about working with the fabulous Miss J.J.:

Q: And we've heard you've been working with Janet Jackson...

A: Yep, well I'm 10 songs into my album and she worked with me on one of the tracks. I'm also doing a tour of America with her in September, which I can't wait for. She's a great lady.

This caused up some frantic stir and fans were excited to see the two work together, especially on tour, I being one of them. However, when Janet-Love asked Mel B about this rumour she replied:

Former Spice Girl Mel B has backtracked on her comments that she was due to record a duet with Janet, saying: “There’s no truth in that.”

That sucks.. I am soo wanting to go to see Janet when she comes to Toronto. Still have to get tickets.. Checkin out Ebay while I Type.. Woot Woot..

LANCE BASS ON DANCING WITH THE STARS??

It looks like it. According to NYDailyNews.com Lance is geared up and ready to participate in the competition. The only thing is that they are not sure to pair him up with a female or take it to the next level and make it with a man..

Hmmm.. Well i would so do it with another man. It would bring a lot more attention to the show for sure. I don't watch the show to tell you the truth. I prefer real dancing from 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Who doesnt wouldn't like to look at Travis (Season 2), Pasha and Neil (Season 3) and Will(Season 4).. DAMN!!!!

SCOTLAND: SELF-HARMING HIGH AMONGST LESBIANS

This piece is quite alarming. In Scotland, a survey was conducted and some disturbing results were found. The survey was conducted with a total of 500 Scottish women by the charity Stonewall . It seems that 20 per cent of lesbian and bisexual women in Scotland had deliberately harmed themselves in the last year, compared to 0.4 per cent of the general population.

THE first major survey conducted into lesbian and bisexual women's health in Scotland has found high levels of self-harm, discrimination and exclusion from routine testing for cervical cancer.

The study also found that five per cent of lesbian and bisexual women have attempted to take their own life in the last year.

Those polled are also still not accessing vital cancer screening services, the charity said.

Calum Irving, director of Stonewall Scotland, said: "This report is a wake-up call for all those concerned with health in Scotland.

"For lesbian and bisexual women the experiences of prejudice, misunderstanding and at times hostility can damage long-term health and wellbeing." [SOURCE]

That is definately not cool. I hope this brings light to the issue and that the governement will start to pour some funding into the community to bring more awareness to these concerns.

ANOTHER RETURNEE TO 90210

Wow.. They are just seem to keep on coming back.. Tori.. Jennie.. Shannen and now Joe E. Tata who played Nat, the owner of the Famous "Peach Pitt".

Joe E. Tata is cooking again in the role of Peach Pit diner owner Nat for the new incarnation of "Beverly Hills 90210."

Tata, who was part of the original series that aired from 1990 to 2000 on Fox, said Tuesday he was wrapping up his scenes for the pilot episode of CW's version of the show. The part represents "lightning striking twice," he said.

It's uncertain if his character will remain part of the series, he said.

"The coin's in the air for me," Tata told The Associated Press. "I guess it comes under the heading of magic test: Let's see if the audience still remembers me." [SOUCRE]

This is such great news. I am just hoping everyone will come back... Just like they did for Degrassi the Next Generation, here in Canada. I don't care if it is just one appearance, I just want to see them back in their original roles.. Please bring back BRANDON!!!

Funny enough.. It took me some time to think where Milano was located.. Yes.. people i am not always the brightest.. especially after looking at guys running around half naked.. ha ha ha.. But i did a little Google search and felt really dumb when it was Milan.. HA HA HA.. OOPSIES.

HOLLYOAKS GAY HUNK SPEAKS!

For some hotness today, I bring forth James Sutton. James plays gay character John Paul McQueen on the British soap Hollyoaks, although he is straight in real life, his portrayal of the gay teen John Paul is remarkable and has been getting a lot of praise from the gay community.

His job playing John Paul is now coming to an end after playing the part since September 2006. He is on his way to better things he says but took some time to sit down with Michael Jensen over at AfterElton.com and have a little Q&A session.

He Talks about his time being on the show, his thoughts on the gay community, what it's like to play a gay character while being straight and much more. Here is a tidbit of the convo:

AE: You have done a lot of interviews and seem really comfortable with the character and playing him. I suspect the way you haven’t made a big deal about playing a gay character is half of the reason why you’re so popular with our readers. Where do you come by that attitude with the role? Did you start out that way or did you come into that as you went along?

JS: I’ve always kind of had that. I spent a good part of my youth [in the theater] and there were a lot of openly gay men … so I was always around that kind of environment and always kind of comfortable around the gay community. I still occasionally go to a gay bar with people and hang out and stuff, so I’ve never had any kind of [discomfort] or anything with it. And I’m just an actor and it’s just a part and … if they need me to kiss another guy or be physical with another guy or whatever it may be … I’m comfortable with myself to do that. I’m quite comfortable in my own skin, you know?

This guy is cute.. Love the Accent as well.. Who Doesn't Love a British Accent? Too bad he is leaving soon. I was just getting used to him on the show. Its being aired on BBCK in Canada. What do you guys think of James??

ATTACK ON GAY SHELTER - 4 TEENS ARRESTED

Seems to me some people are just haters.. 4 teens were arrested for attacking youth and a priest who runs a Queens shelter for transgender and gay youth. Although its being reported that there were only minor injuries it still caused for alarm in the community.

The priest, the Rev. Louis Braxton Jr., said he was returning to the shelter, Carmen’s Place, on Steinway Street in Astoria, about 10:30 on Monday night when he saw a group of youths hit a resident on the head with a bag of garbage.

Father Braxton, an Episcopal priest who is the shelter’s director, said he shouted at the attackers and they fled. But four youths returned soon after holding a paint bucket, a miter box, steel brackets and a belt. By then other shelter residents had gathered outside, Father Braxton said.

Two residents of Carmen’s Place argued with the four and were punched in the face and body, Kevin Ryan, a spokesman for the Queens district attorney’s office, said.

...Father Braxton said the group used obscenities and homophobic and anti-transgender slurs. He met with detectives from the Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit on Tuesday to discuss safety concerns.

“We have had other attacks like this from kids in the neighborhood,” he said. “People pushing the kids, throwing things at them, at least once a week.”

Three of the suspects were identified by the police as Shara Mozie, 17, and Tyreek Childs, 17, both of 24th Street, and Trevaughn Payne, 16, of 34th Avenue, all in Queens.

The name of the fourth suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was not released because he will likely be charged as a juvenile, Mr. Ryan said.

The three teenagers faced assault, weapons and harassment charges, Mr. Ryan said. The most-serious count, the assault charge, is a misdemeanor, he said. [SOURCE]

Wow.. I always think it starts with the family.. These kids need parents to teach them about respecting diversity. I hope these kids get what they deserve.

BOO CANADA!! - BI NIGERIAN WOMAN BEING DENIED REFUGEE STATUS

Seems like this poor woman is being deported on July 10th because she was denied refugee status. She is claiming that she will be prosecuted because of being bisexual. She has two children as well and is scared for their safety:

Time is running out for a bisexual woman who has been denied refugee status in Canada. Jane Okojie is scheduled to be deported to Nigeria on Thu, Jul 10 where she says she and her two children will face persecution because of her bisexuality.

"I don't know what to do," says Okojie. "I am more afraid for my children than for myself. There are so many things going on in my head, I cannot think properly."

...Homosexuality in Nigeria is punishable by imprisonment of up to 14 years. The country has been criticized by human rights organizations including Amnesty International over its record of queer and other human rights abuses. In 2006 the Nigerian justice minister proposed a bill that would have made it a crime to support queer advocacy groups or participate in a same-sex marriage ceremony and banned adoption by queers. The bill was brought before the house of the national assembly but was not passed. [SOURCE]

Ok.. This is horrible.. This may sound ignorant of me but Canada will allow any individual to come into our country and imigrate here even if they only speak a few english words. Now we have a woman here who is in danger of her life and safety of her children and Canada won't accept her. EWWW.. What kind of counrty do i live in.. I just want to spit on it right now.. BAH!!!

*UPDATE* Jane Okojie, a Nigerian woman who had been scheduled to be deported to Nigeria on Thu, Jul 10, has been granted a temporary deferral, allowing her to stay in Canada in the short term. The deferral came as the result of a request made by Okojie's lawyer to the removal officer handling her case. [SOURCE]

DID A "BRUNO" STUNT GET OUT OF CONTROL IN ARKANSAS?

This comes from the U.S.. Seems like a brawl broke lose after a fake "Cage Fight" was put on and in the middle of the fight the two men involved stripped down and started to passionately kiss. Seems that Arkansas cannot handle two men kissing, especially those who paid $1 for beer and wanted to watch only two men fight brutally. HA HA HA..

This brought some speculation that this could be a stunt for the new Sacha Baron Cohen movie about a gay Austrian reporter "Bruno":

"We had a contract for cage fighting. We were deceived," said Dwight Duncan, president and CEO of Four States Fair Grounds in Texarkana, where the first of two Arkansas fights raised suspicions last month.

Matt Labov, a Los Angeles-based publicist for Baron Cohen, said he had no comment Monday about the faked fights. One of Baron Cohen's movies is due out next year.

An elaborate array of mounted and handheld video cameras caught the crowd of 1,600's reaction as the two men "went right up to the line" of the city's morality laws, Holland said. The two men stripped down to their underwear, kissed and rubbed on each other, the sergeant said.

...The audience, as well as local fighters drawn to take part in the show, became enraged. "It set the crowd off lobbing beers," Holland said. "They had beers in plastic cups. Those things can get some distance on them actually."

Holland said it took officers about 45 minutes to clear the convention center, as the two actors sprinted away through a specially set-aside tunnel.

Those in attendance were told by several signs on display that they'd be filmed, Holland said, and signed waivers before the event. Convention center sales director Karin Hobbs declined to name the event's sponsor Monday. [SOURCE]
