ANTI-GAY PHELPS GROUP DENIED ENTRY TO CANADA

LOL.. When I read this I laughed so hard. I don't usually Hate a lot of things but this group, who was founded by Fred Phelps is something I do Hate.. They are down-right disgusting group of people who say they are following God but proclaim Hate.

Anyways.. The great news is that they were barred from entering Canada.. SUCKERS!!!

The Canadian Press and the Canwest News Service both report that the group, from Rev. Fred Phelps’ Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, were turned back when they attempted to enter Canada at a border crossing south of Winnipeg on Thursday.

The Canadian government has not commented on the reports, but Pat Martin, a New Democratic Party member of Parliament from Winnipeg, says he asked Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day to send an alert to the border patrol to look out “for people with signs and pamphlets that fit the hateful messages that the church promotes and to keep them out of the country.”

Canadian hate laws give the government the power to deny entry to people likely to violate the law. The so-called church was listed as a hate group under the law following previous protests.
Phelps, who runs the “God Hates Fags” website, had threatened to picket the Winnipeg funeral of a man decapitated on a Greyhound bus. Another passenger is charged with the sensational killing.

Phelps had threatened to protest the funeral of Tim McLean to show Canadians the murder was God’s response to liberal Canadian policies toward homosexuality.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, Phelps’ daughter and a frequent spokesperson for the “church” confirmed to both Canwest and CP that a small group of protesters was stopped at the Canada-U. S. border Thursday afternoon.

They won’t let us in, but we have a group that will cross in another spot,” she told the Canwest Winnipeg Free Press. “They’ll have to strip search everyone who crosses that border or they won’t know who we are. They’ll have to see the WBC [Westboro Baptist Church] tattoo on our butts.”

In addition to the threatened protest at the McLean funeral the group had said it would demonstrate in Toronto where a satirical play titled “The Pastor Phelps Project” is being performed. No members of the church showed up for the demonstration, which had been planned for Thursday evening. Westboro Baptist members frequently demonstrate at funerals for American servicemembers killed in Iraq. The group claims the deaths are God’s punishment on America for being too pro-gay.

Westboro’s members are made up mostly of Phelps’ relatives. Although it professes to be Baptist it is not affiliated with any national Baptist group.

Westboro operates Web sites including GodHatesFags and GodHatesAmerica and has been described as a cult.

Phelps and the church first came to national attention when he organized a protest by his followers outside the 1998 funeral for Matthew Shepherd, the gay college student who was beaten to death in Wyoming. The killing, Phelps’ protest, and the reaction of townsfolk led to the play “The Laramie Project.”

Church members routinely demonstrate at the funerals of people with AIDS and most recently at the funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq. [SOURCE]

GAY FILIPINOS ARRESTED IN SAUDI ARABIA

EEK.. These two men were arrested in the Saudi capital Riyadh for homosexual acts. I am not sure if I have stated this before but this lethal. In Saudi Arabia homosexuality is illegal under sharia, or Islamic Law. The maximum sentence it carries is the death penalty and this is most commonly performed by public beheading. Isn't That Nuts??

"The authorities, who arrested the two men while committing the crime, also seized some alcohol owned by the detainees," according to sabq.com

"The work permit of the two men expired two years ago and their only source of income is through selling alcoholic drinks and working as prostitutes."

Police from the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice unit reportedly found phone numbers of the men’s clients and have passed a report onto the District Attorney.

Gay rights are not recognised in the kingdom and the publication of any material promoting them is banned for its "un-Islamic" themes.

With strict laws restricting unmarried opposite-sex couples, however, and public displays of affection accepted between men, some Westerners have suggested that sharia encourages homosexuality. [SOURCE]

GAY DONERS BRING "INFECTION AND DEATH" CLAIMS RED CROSS

Red Cross is causing some controversy again about their doner rules. In Australia, electronics technician Michael Cain, 21, was rejected as a donor in October 2004, after replying "yes" in the Red Cross questionnaire to whether he had had gay sex in the past 12 months. Gay Activists of course did not like this and were mad with how Red Cross Responded. Red Cross believe that gay men bring infection and death to the community and this is why there is a ban on their blood. HOW RUDE!

Tasmanian Gay and Lesbian Rights Group spokesperson, Rodney Croome, described the Red Cross opening statement in defence of the current ban as a "statistical diatribe against gay men."

"The Red Cross cited statistics about rates of HIV and other infections in the gay community which were misleading because the infections in question arise from unsafe sex, not gay sex, and because almost all these infections are increasing dramatically in other groups which aren't banned from blood donation," Mr Croome said.

"It was particularly offensive and unprofessional for the Red Cross to assert that "monogamy is a myth" in regard to men who have sex with men."

Cain's solicitor, Peter Tree, highlighted the fact that risk of HIV infection is based on safety of sexual activity, not gender of sexual partner.

Mr Tree said it was "illogical and medically flawed" to ban all sexually-active gay men from donating blood.

"The appropriate screen ought be based on unsafe sexual activity."

Mr Tree also highlighted statistics showing the failure of the current screening process to eliminate all HIV positive blood donations, especially from heterosexual donors. [SOURCE]

HOLLYOAKS STAR SPEAKS OUT AGAINST MP IRIS ROBINSON AND HER HOMOPHOBIA

Gerard McCarthy, who plays bisexual character Kris Fisher in Hollyoaks has spoken out against Irish MP Iris Robinson (See Below). Robinson, who is married to the First Minister of Northern Ireland, has been criticised for speaking out against gay people and has refused to modify her position that homosexuality is vile, wicked and an abomination, based on her Biblical beliefs.


During a June 17th House of Commons committee discussion on the assessment and management of sex offenders, Mrs Robinson said:
"There can be no viler act, apart from homosexuality, than sexually abusing innocent children."
She claims that she meant that child abuse is worse than homosexuality.

Mr McCarthy, who plays Kris Fisher in Hollyoaks, told the Belfast Telegraph that he regularly receives letters from teenagers who are being bullied because they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans.

"There should be no place for hateful and extremist opinion," he said.

"Moreover, to have a Member of Parliament advocate them must certainly be in violation of the MPs' code of conduct.

"The wife of the First Minister should be forced to resign, made to give a formal apology and retract her comments in order to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and equally under the law." [SOURCE]

ONE OF THE "FIRST" LESBIAN COUPLE TO WED IN CALIFORNIA ARE DIVORCING ALREADY!!

Looks like Wedding Bliss is not for everyone. The supposedly one of the "First" Lesbian couple to marry when California made it legal is already divorcing. Wow!! fast eh??

Same-sex couples are once again making history in Fresno. They got married in June but now at least one couple is seeking a divorce. Two women are believed to be the first-same sex couple in Fresno to file for divorce. They married days after the state legalized gay marriages. Just a few days later, they separated.

Gays and lesbians embraced and celebrated history on June 17, dozens lined up in Fresno to say "I do". Now one couple wants out of marriage. A divorce application was filed in court for two women. They married on June 27, 2008. Then three days later on June 30, 2008, the document indicates they separated. The couple declined to be interviewed citing privacy issues but they checked "irreconcilable differences" on their application.

ABC 30's Legal Analyst Tony Capozzi said while a same-sex divorce in Fresno County is unprecedented, legally it is not significant. Capozzi said, "The fact that it is a same-sex marriage and now a divorce is of no consequence to the court. They're going to be treated as equally as anyone who comes before that court."

Jason Scott and his husband Randy were among the first to marry in Fresno. Scott said the marriage hasn't changed his life. But he fears a few same-sex couples may have rushed and did not fully understand the obligations with marriage. Scott said, "When you get married, you're really basically becoming almost one entity. You're taking on the responsibilities for the other person." [SOURCE]

That's a shame. I guess some people just rush into it not knowing the consequences. But then again, wouldn't you think your life would not change that much now that your married?? Crazyness folks.

GAY EX-HUSBAND KIDNAPS SON AND FLEES TO ISREAL

Wow.. this is a crazy story..

A Gay Man is been worried sick after having his ex-husband kidnap their son and flee to Isreal.

Joshua Glazer (Below with son) and Eric Hyett (Above) married four years ago in Massachusetts. They adopted their son Jedidiah before they broke up and now everything is going downhill for Glazer.

When Hyett picked the boy up last Thursday he asked for two more days because he wanted to take Jedidiah to Boston to visit his grandparents.

Glazer said yes.

“They were supposed to come back by noon Tuesday instead of Sunday,” said Glazer. “But by 12:15, I was already starting to get worried. I knew something was up.” Police said Hyett sent an e-mail to a former attorney for Glazer in which he said he and the boy had arrived safely in Tel Aviv.

He gave his phone number and wrote to Glazer, “You won’t see your son again.” [SOURCE]

NEW YORK STATES WANTS TO STOP BULLYING IN SCHOOLS

New York State is taking a stand on Bullying in schools which will include sexual orientation. Although quietly introduced in the State Senate, the legislation, which includes language protecting transgender students and teachers, has been a priority of advocates for gay and lesbian rights but was ignored for nearly a decade in the Senate.

Republicans introduced the bill this week, but no sponsor was listed.

“We are focused on property tax relief,” said Scott Reif, a spokesman for the Senate majority leader, Dean G. Skelos. He said the bullying bill would not come up at a special session on Friday, and he declined to comment further on it.

Senate Republicans could bring it to the floor at another session later in the month, but it was not clear if they would do so. However, it would be unusual to go to the trouble of introducing a bill in the off-season without an intention to pass it.

Alan Van Capelle, the executive director of the Empire State Pride Agenda, a gay-rights organization, said the legislation is an important recognition that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students are often harassed at school.

“In a ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,’ ‘Will and Grace’ world, kids are coming out at a much younger age,” he said. “As a community, we have done a woefully inadequate job of protecting them.”

The legislation would require training to help teachers recognize and respond to bullying and require schools to keep track of bullying cases, including incidents in which students are harassed for their sexual orientation. Similar bills have been passed in the Democrat-controlled Assembly several times. [SOURCE]

If you look at the Lawrence King murder, this needed to be in effect much more earlier because this could have helped stop such a sad killing. When will people learn??

KID PLEADED GUILTY IN LAWRENCE KING MURDER TRIAL

Fourteen year old Brandon McInerney pleaded “not guilty” in the killing of classmate Lawrence King (Left). Lawrence gave Brandon a Valentine card and Brandon decided he was a homophobe and shot Lawrence because of it.

Defense lawyers also argued yesterday that the charges should be dropped to manslaughter, rather than murder. McInerney faces up to 51 years in prison if convicted, because he is being trialed as an adult rather than a youth.

I hope a lesson for the public will come out of this trial. Homophobia in the school place is not needed. I was once there and felt the homophobia throughout high school. No one needs to go through this, straight or gay.

KANYE SPEAKS OUT AGAINST HOMOPHOBIA

Kanye is coming out for the gays. During a Madison Square Garden performance, the singer felt the urge to help fight Homophobia. He yelled out to the crowd the following:

"Open your fucking minds. Open your minds. Be accepting of different people and let people be who they are. You know how many people came to me calling me gay cause I wear my jeans the fresh way? Or because I said hey, dude, how you gonna say 'fag' right in front of a gay dude's face and act like that's ok. That shit is disrespectful. Coming from Chicago, where if you saw somebody that was gay you were supppoed to stay ten feet away. It should be time to break out of the intuitions that I was sayin', the steretypes, or the fear, the backlash that I would get if you don't believe in what I believe in, acceptin' people for who they are...they're very talented and if they do something special in the world and they're discriminated. I've flown across the world y'all, and I've come back here to tell you — open your minds and live a happier life..." [SOURCE]

LGBTQ COMMUNITY FEELS THE RISE OF HATE CRIMES IN 2008

Man, I am sorry guys but it seems like all my posts have been all bad news. Well Don't worry i will end up with the Hottie of the Day and you did have my camping pics to make ya smile before reading all the sad stories.

This one comes from New York. Looks like Hate Crimes towards the LGBTQ community is up in 2008 according to The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs.

Since the February murder of 15 year-old Lawrence King and the brutal beating of Duanna Johnson, there have been at least 13 brutal and violent LGBT hate crimes throughout the country. The organization added that the reported crimes only may be a small number of the total, since many LGBT people are reluctant to go to police, and many of the attacks that are reported are not listed by authorities as hate crimes.

The NCAVP said that the growing hate crimes may indicate a frightening trend of increases in both the number and severity of anti-LGBT violence.

“This is extremely disturbing and saddening. We are witnessing what appears to be an increase in both the occurrence and severity of violence motivated by racism, homophobia, and transphobia,” said Sharon Stapel, Executive Director of the New York City Anti-Violence Project. [SOURCE]

Its wierd to find out that many of the incidents occurred in late June and July, when LGBT visibility is high during gay pride celebrations.

AUSTRALIA: 20 YR OLD KILLED BY HIS 45 YR OLD BOYFRIEND

This is a messed up story. This poor boy above, Matthew Leveson's murder was believed to be connected to a Hate Crime. This does not seem to be the case:

Michael Peter Atkins, 45, was arrested at 7am today at his Cronulla unit, with police later charging him over the death of 20-year-old Matthew Leveson, who disappeared in September last year.

Mr Leveson was last seen by his brother Peter at the popular gay club ARQ on September 23, when he left the inner-Sydney nightspot with Atkins, with whom he was living at the time.
Atkins later told police he had seen him the next day in Cronulla.

But Mr Leveson was only reported missing when he did not turn up to work at a Hurstville call centre on September 25.

Two days later, police found Mr Leveson's empty Toyota Seca at Waratah Oval in Sutherland, just a short distance from his home.

Mr Leveson's parents said they were sickened to learn Atkins had been arrested over their son's murder.

"Sick, sick to the stomach," Faye Leveson told reporters.

His father, Mark, said the family had known Atkins for about 12 months prior to his son's disappearance, and the family now felt "betrayed". [SOURCE]

Wow.. That is nuts! Luckily, Atkins has been refused police bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court tomorrow.

TRANS MURDERED IN EAST LONDON

Just after reporting about Angie another Trans-attack has occured in south east London, England. Allegedly, a teenager who had allowed her to perform oral sex on him decided to strangle her the act.

Kellie Telesford’s body was found at her Thornton Heath flat in November after police responded to calls from friends and forced entry into the apartment.

"Kellie Telesford was born in Trinidad, she was aged 39 at the time of her death," Sally O'Neill QC, prosecuting, told the court, according to the CroydonToday.co.uk.

“Although born a man with the name Kayode Dexter Telesford, she was a pre-operative transgender female and lived her life as a woman. him.

Miss O’Neill said that the defendant, 18-year-old Shanniel Hyatt, went back to her flat on the evening of November 17th and, after she had performed oral sex on him, he became angry when he discovered she was a transsexual.

Hyatt told police after his arrest on November 29th that he did not know she was trans woman during the time he spent with her and denied that he had found out at her flat and become violent.

The prosecution claims that Hyatt, who was 17 at the time, strangled her with a brown scarf, covered her body with a towel and stole items including Kellie’s Oyster card, which he used to get the bus home. [SOURCE]

Absolutely disgusting. Although, the murderer says that he didn't strangle her because she was Trans, its still an awful thing to hear in the community. It still sounds fishy though. I think deep down he found out that Kellie was trans and that is why he strangled her but then again i am no prosecutor. RIP Kellie

CALIFORNIAN PUNKS IN FOR A BIT OF CANDID CAMERA

California: One of Solano County's first married same-sex couples seem to have a pesky problem on their hands. The two lesbians have a rainbow flag outside their home and it has been vandalized several time and nothing is being done about it.

Two weeks after their wedding, vandals drenched the flag in front of Kathryn and Jeani Kayair's home with coffee. They initially thought it was a juvenile prank, but vandals have struck five times in one month, with the attacks escalating from coffee to motor oil.

The couple told CBS 5 that they have not heard anything from Vallejo Police and are forced to report each attack by email, due to the city's recent bankruptcy. [SOURCE]

So what are these two going to do about their problem. They are going to put up cameras to watch over their flag. See if they can catch the culprits themselves.. SNAP!

CAMPING A LA GAY CAMPSITE!!

Hey Everyone,

Happy Tuesday! So as I was saying on Friday about me going camping at this Gay Campsite just outside of Hamilton, Ontario.. Well I had a Bloody Brilliant time. So much fun there. We went up friday and when we arrived, realized we had a tent with no poles. So Claudio and I had to shack it up with our friends Jenia and Tapscott. Oh was it ever cozy..

Here are some pics from the trip. Above is me singing lovely songs on a bench outside our tent.. The first night we had no logs so we used tea lights to help light our way.. ha ha ha..

Below is me with Tapscott and Jenia after we broke the bench with our weight. yes.. I couldn't stop laughing about this.. Our Bench now was crooked.. :(

Of course, when you put me and Jenia in a drunken situation we get up to some crazy stuff. Just as you get into the campsite there is a sign that says "Welcome Campers" and gives a list of events happening at the site.. Well Jenia and myself thought we should do our sign.. Read Below:

LIVERPOOL UK: 18 YR OLD LOST HIS LIFE DUE TO BEING GAY

This is some sad news for a Monday, but I wanted to post it because there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. Michael Causer, 18 yrs old (above), was attacked by three youths on Friday 25th July and suffered serious head injuries. Michael was treated by surgery at the Walton Neurology Centre to try to reduce swelling on his brain, however, passed away at 2:30pm on Saturday.

Two men, Gavin Alker aged 19 and James O'Connor, 18, both from the Huyton area, where the attack took place, have been charged with grievous bodily harm.

A third man from the area, aged 19, has been charged with witness intimidation. Merseyside police said the attack was being treated as a homophobic hate crime.

The light being that a local councillor is urging churches to step up and speak out about violence and hate towards everyone: gay, straight, black, white etc.

Steve Radford, leader of the Liberal party, represents Tuebrook and Stoneycroft ward. He told PinkNews.co.uk that it is vital the churches take a stand.

Councillor Radford, who is gay, told PinkNews.co.uk that the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Forum will meet this Wednesday to discuss how to respond to Mr Causer's death.

He stressed the need for all sections of society in Liverpool to speak out.

"I think we have to make sure that what we do must be dignified and inclusive.

"I want the civic and religious leaders to come together, like we saw after the murder of Anthony Walker."

Anthony, 18, was murdered with an ice axe in a racially-motivated attack in Huyton in 2005.

"A protest march may give the wrong impression and we also have to be very sensitive to the personal wishes of the family."

Councillor Radford said that given the importance of the churches in Liverpool he wants the city’s Roman Catholic and Anglican bishops to join with other religious leaders to lead a protest against homophobia "with the same robustness that they showed against racial hatred."

Merseyside Police said today:
"All the people arrested in connection to this incident were known to the victim and no one else is being sought." [SOURCE]

The sad thing is that my Dad is from this area (born and raised). Something needs to be done. This poor guy has lost his life for being himself. He will not be allowed to live a full life like these idiots who did this. I just hope justice will prevail at the end of all this. We don't need this type of hatred in our world!

GAY US CITIZEN JAILED FOR MAN-CRUISING IN INDIA

Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A 55 yr old male American citizen was arrested for luring young fishermen into gay sexual acts in the tourist town of Mahabalipuram in 1998. Damn!

Magistrate of Tirukazhukundram court pronounced the sentence on July 27 after finding Miles Patrick, a resident of New York, guilty of inducing young fishermen into homosexuality by showing pornographic films and giving narcotics.

The court sentenced Srinivasan, a local associate of Partick, to three-year rigorous imprisonment for aiding and abetting him in his acts.

The two were arrested by the Mahablipuram police last year on a complaint from 25-year old local fisherman Desamuthu.

Patrick, a painter, frequently visited Mahabalipuram, famous for its ancient sculptures and the shore temples, in 1998 and stayed there later. [SOURCE]

Same-sex loving remains illegal in India. Although urban citizens have become more accepting in recent years, the law is still intact.

BECKHAM WINS AT THE 2008 TEEN CHOICE AWARDS

Oh BECKS.. My #1 Hottie was at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards last night with the fam.

Becks beat Golfer Tiger Woods, Footballer Eli Manning and Basketball star Kobe Bryant and LeBron James for the CHOICE MALE ATHLETE AWARD.

He was accompanied on the stage by his three sons matching in yellow shirts (This is how my mum used to dress my brother and I when were young.. Awww).

The Teen Choice Awards are being aired tonight on Fox and keep your eyes out for little Cruz Beckham to be doing some crazy dance moves after his Dad wins the award. I am not sure if they will air it but Cruz definately stole the night with his moves!

NPH IS OUT

Claudio and I were watching the Harold and Kumar movie thinking it would be Hilarious but to tell you the truth it was not even close to being as funny as the first one. Maybe because the potty humour was more absent in this movie than the first. I mean come on.. Who didn't think the "Battle Shits" between the two hot girls in the Dorm Washroom was the most funniest thing ever. ha ha ha.

Anyways, Mr. Neil Patrick Harris who co-starred in the movie was playing himself but as a straight NPH. He is definitely ageless when you look at him though, he doesn't ever seem to grow old.

NPH is featured on the cover of OUT Magazine and here is a little snip-it of the interview:

NPH: I think it was harder. Actually, I think it was easier for me, because I was around a lot of people who were gay and I was around a lot of people who were very confident. I was surrounded by people I could talk to freely about anything, and they were very successful emotionally and otherwise.

NPH: And yet, part of the coming-out process is figuring out who you like and what that means and how to act upon it. Being an actor reduced my level of anonymity. I couldn’t just go to some bar and walk in and ask someone out on a date, because there was too much awareness of me. So it made it more difficult in that sense. I couldn’t be, like, “Maybe I like this kind of guy” or “Maybe I’m into this” — I couldn’t really experiment. I sort of had to narrow my gaze from afar. If I had any regret, it would be that strange lack of anonymity that created panic within myself that I would be found out. But I think that’s everyone’s big fear.
