UMMM NOPE!!! I found this one funny. Seems like being politically correct can get some people in trouble. An American 100m finalist Tyson Gay made it into the 100 Finals, however because of the word "Gay" being offensive to a division of the American Family News Network his last name was renamed "homosexual". OneNewsNow.com had been using an auto-replace feature, which resulted in top sprinter Tyson Gay being renamed "Tyson Homosexual" in stories on their website. This then trickled down the grapevine and people really thought an "Out" participant was in the Olympics.
"An American Christian news service's blanket policy of replacing all uses of the word "gay" with "homosexual" has backfired in embarrassing fashion, reports RightWingWatch.org...This led to misleading headlines such as "Homosexual eases into 100 final at Olympic trials" and "Close call: Homosexual barely averts major flop in 100″.
The AFN, which claims to "present the day's stories from a Biblical perspective" and has over 1,200 broadcast, print and online affiliates worldwide, has reportedly made some corrections, but is still running a story on pro basketball player Rudy Gay, in which he is referred to as "Rudy Homosexual."" HA HA HA.. Too funny.. That's a bad mistake to make, especially in the world of journalism. Oh well i hope Tyson doesn't take it personal!!
