CURIOUS GEORGE KILLERS SENTENCED TO LIFE

This is some crazy crazy stuff. I didn't know this happened but in 2006 the author of Curious George Alan Shalleck was murdered by two gay men, Vincent Puglisi and Rex Ditto after meeting them on a gay sex website. Read below for some creepy details:

An autopsy found that the 76 year old had been stabbed to death. There were more than 30 stab wound to the body and he had been struck more than 80 times with a blunt instrument.

The trailer home had been ransacked and jewelry and credit cars were missing. It was also discovered that money had been taken from Shalleck's savings account.

Tracing his final hours police determined he met his killers through a gay sex listing service. Using Shalleck's phone records investigators were led to Ditto and Puglisi.

The sentences were as follows:

Vincent Puglisi this week was sentenced to life in prison.

Puglisi was found guilty in June of first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon.

His co-defendant, Rex Ditto, already is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty last year to first-degree murder and robbery with a weapon. [SOURCE]

MORE ANDREW (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES) GOSSIP

Alright folks some more gossip on what's going to happen with Shawn Pyfrom's character Andrew Van De Kamp on Desperate Housewives this upcoming season. I can't wait. He needs to have more of a juicy storyline like the first and second season. He was hot in those two. OUCH.. When talking about Bree and Andrew, Creater Marc Cherry spilled some juicy details about next season:

"-- Bree (Marcia Cross) will get out of the house more but she'll still be surrounded by muffins as a Martha Stewart-like entrepreneur. Her son Andrew (Shawn Pyfrom) works as her assistant and he may get a relationship in the second half of the season. Cherry said making Andrew a gay character was an opportunity to steal a scene from his own life in the first season. "The only ugly moment with my mother is when I came out and she was concerned that she wouldn't see me in heaven," Cherry said. DUTCH SUB "BIRTH NAME" INSTEAD OF "MAIDEN NAME"

The Dutch are the coolest. They are so advanced with equality than most nations I find. They wanted to take equality to the next step. The have substituted using Maiden name to Birth name to not offend gays who take their spouses last name.

The Dutch civil service has developed a new name for "maiden name" so married gay men won't feel awkward.

"Geboortenaam" translates to "birth name". It will replace maiden name on official forms, radio Netherlands reported on Wednesday.

Despite its liberal reputation, Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands have been facing a rise in homophobic attacks over the last few years.

The government has committed to millions of Euros to fighting homophobia in the country.
A recent European poll found the Dutch to be the strongest supporters of same-sex marriage in the EU, with 82% in favour.

GAY MARRIAGE EXCLUDED IN U.S. 2010 CENSUS

Sparks are flying in the States right now because in the 2010 census gay marriage will not be included. I guess since it's only two states that have allowed it, loses to the majority. Sad.. Man, the U.S. needs some lessons on Equality.. GEESH..

The Census Bureau says the federal Defense of Marriage Act bars the agency from recognizing gay marriages in the nation's 10-year count, even though the marriages are legal in Massachusetts and California.

The agency's director, Steven Murdock, said in an interview Thursday that the 1996 federal law "has that effect, in terms of being a federal agency. We are restricted by it."

The Census Bureau does not ask people about their sexual orientation, but it does ask about their relationships to the head of the household. Many gay couples are listed in census figures as unmarried, same-sex partners, though it is an imperfect tally of all gay couples. [SOURCE]

WICKED, MAKING IT TO THE BIG SCREEN - SWEET!!

I was over on PinkIsTheNewBlog website and stumbled across some fascinating and Wicked news.

Wicked, The Musical is being made into a Full Length Movie. SWEET... I am almost at the end of the actual book written by Gregory Maguire and i am sooo drawn into the story its nuts. It takes a lot for me to read but this book gets you right in there. You really feel for the Wicked Witch of the West.. She ain't bad folks.. She ain't bad!!

Marc Platt has extended his contract with Universal Pictures for five years, according to Variety. Marc Platt Productions currently has several projects of interest to theatre plans in the works, including a film version of the international hit Wicked, a remake of the 1973 Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice film “Jesus Christ Superstar” and a new motion picture about the life of the late composer George Gershwin. Universal Pictures production president Donna Langley told the industry paper, “Our goal now is absolutely to make the Wicked film, but much like Judy Craymer wouldn’t give up screen rights to Mamma Mia! until the stage show had reached its pinnacle, Marc and Stephen Schwartz are very mindful of the right timing. But we’re dying to do it.” Platt told Variety that he and Wicked co-producer David Stone are currently in “early movie talks” with the studio. Winnie Holzman, who penned the Tony-nominated book for Wicked, will write the film’s screenplay. No casting has been mentioned. [Source]

U.K. INCREASES MINORITY REPRESENTATION BUT EXCLUDES GAYS

In the U.K, the government wants to increase the representation of women, ethnic minorities and disabled people to the boards of public bodies. However, when looked closely at this new plan, sexual orientation was not included.

Uh Oh... Definately going to have some upset Gays in the house:

Harriet Harman, Secretary of State for Equality, said:
"Our ultimate aim is to have fair representation of women, black and Asian, and disabled people at every level of our democracy, including in public bodies.

"I'm going to keep a sharp eye on appointments made by each government department."

In response to the Harman's words Derek Munn, head of public affairs for gay equality organisation Stonewall, said:

"Given the government's aim of extend equal protect to sexual orientation, Stonewall expects this to apply in every area of the government's work and public appointments are no different." [SOURCE]

TIME TO REPEAL US BAN ON HIV TRAVELLERS?

Here is something i didn't know. Did you know in the States that one who has HIV and wants to immigrate or have a short travel trip to the country is not allowed to? They are barred from the country due to current US immigration law. Crazy stuff..

Well it seem that a former candidate for President of the United States has said he hopes he will be able to remove a ban on people who are HIV positive travelling to the country. DUN DUN DUN...

Speaking to the HIV/AIDS Task Force of the Centre for Strategic & International Studies in Washington DC yesterday, Senator John Kerry said there is "no excuse for a law that stigmatises a particular disease."

Alongside his Republican colleague Gordon Smith, Senator Kerry has attached an amendment to a bill authorising $50 billon for PEPFAR, the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. [SOURCE]

Poor Uncle Bobby.. He may not get his wedding in some school's by the looks of things. I guess some bible thumpers are not finding this book child friendly:

A patron at Douglas County Libraries in Colorado asked that the book either be removed from the shelves, placed in a special area, or labeled “some material may be inappropriate for young children.” [SOURCE]
