HOW GOOD IS YOUR GAYDAR?

Here is an interesting story. It looks like both men and woman, after seeing someone, make the judgement if that person is gay or not.. According to the article many have good gaydar.

It turns out that people make their decisions within 50 milliseconds of seeing someone, and that first instinct is accurate the majority of the time, according to research by Nick Rule and Nalini Ambady of Tufts University who have a study in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.

Twenty-two male and sixty-eight female undergrads were presented with photos of 90 men's faces (half were homosexual) for either 33ms, 50ms, 6500ms or 10,000ms. The anonymous photos were taken from an internet dating site where posters stated their sexual orientation. Any photos featuring facial hair, glasses or jewelery were not used.

At 33ms, the presentation was too quick for the students to consciously 'see' the faces and, perhaps unsurprisingly, their ability to determine the men's sexuality was no better than if they were simply guessing. However, at 50ms - just long enough for the faces to be consciously seen - the students' accuracy grew to 57 per cent, which is significantly better than chance performance. [SOURCE]

Wow.. Craziness.. So someone is saying if u look at someone long enough ur chances of guessing whether they are gay or not can double. Hmmm.. Interesting stuff.. I guess they should have used a picture of my boyfriend.. No one would have guessed him for being gay.. STUMP THEM ALL!!

ANGIE'S MURDERER FOUND!

An update on the Trans Teen murder: The murderer was caught. He basically gave every little detail on how he killed Angie. Its very harsh and sad on how he approached the situation. Poor Angie.. RIP.

Allen Ray Andrade, 31, faces several charges, including second-degree murder in the death of Justin Zapata, 20, who was known as Angie Zapata. The victim’s bloodied, battered body was discovered in her apartment by her sister on July 17.

Andrade told investigators that he met Zapata through MocoSpace, a social network designed primarily for cell phone users, according to an arrest affidavit released by Greeley police. The two met July 15 and spent the day together.

Andrade told investigators that Zapata performed oral sex on him but wouldn’t let him touch her, according to the affidavit.

He said he also spent the night at Zapata’s apartment, but in separate beds. The next day, Zapata left Andrade alone in her apartment, and Andrade noticed several photographs that led him to question Zapata’s gender.

Andrade confronted Zapata when she got back. He grabbed Zapata’s crotch area, felt male genitalia and became angry, the affidavit says. He told investigators that he took a fire extinguisher off a shelf, struck Zapata twice in the head and thought he "killed it." [SOURCE]

IRAN BLAMES WESTERN COUNTRIES FOR AIDS!

Oh Iran.. Oh Mr. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.. Small minded folk.. How they like to stick their shoes in their mouths. Seems like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes that the Western Countries (United States, Canada) are to blame for AIDS and other problems. Rigggghhhhttt....

Iran’s president is blaming the United States and other “`big powers” for AIDS, nuclear proliferation, and other global ills, and accusing them of exploiting the United Nations and other organizations for their own gain and the developing world’s loss.

But, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, time was on the poor countries’ side.

“The big powers are going down,” Ahmadinejad told foreign ministers of the Non-Aligned Movement meeting in Tehran. “They have come to the end of their power, and the world is on the verge of entering a new, promising era.” [SOURCE]

YAY GREENLAND! INTRODUCING GAY PROTECTION ACT

Congrats to Greenland for another country to protect their gays from discrimination. Like I have said before, I believe everyone should be treated equally no matter your race, colour, religion or sexuality. Kudos to Greenland!

A new law that makes it illegal to discriminate against homosexuals is to be introduced in Greenland as it emerged that gay men struggle with homosexuality more than women do.

Greenland's news site Sermitsiak reported that the law, which legal experts said was not necessary until now, is set to take effect in 2010. [SOURCE]

Although.. One thing thats strange is that it will take effect in 2010. Why so late? That to me is seems wierd but i guess it's a start!

AUSTRALIA: STEROIDS DISGUISED AS GAY LUBE SCANDAL

Ohh my.. this is quite a funny one. Australia has a good story with this. They busted a drug scandal that included "Gay Lube". Looks like someone was trying to smuggle steroids over the Australian border disguising it as the lube. Crafty i must say but definitely not smart since they got caught!

Australian Customs officers have broken a drugs ring where shipments of performance enhancing steroids where disguised as 'gay lube oil.'

More than 150 bottles of the drugs have been seized in five states since the beginning of the year.

The authorities stepped in after they became suspicious of the number of orders for the product.

Tests revealed the bottles, posted from Thailand, contained image and performance enhancing drugs including deca durabolin and testosterone. Customs executed search and seizure warrants on premises throughout Australia and issued several individuals with formal warnings and seizure notices about these shipments while other detections remain under investigation.

Customs is also liaising with authorities in Thailand to prevent further shipments. [SOURCE]

GAYS ARRESTED AT A GAY PARTY IN SAUDI ARABIA

Police in the Gulf kingdom of Saudi Arabia have launched another raid on a so-called gay party, this time in the coastal Qatif province.

TV channel al-Arabiya reports that two young men wearing women's make up and dancing together were among 55 people arrested by religious police.

Last month more than 20 men after a raid on another property in Qatif.

Quantities of alcohol were seized at a gathering of young men. Many were initially arrested on homosexuality charges but later released. [SOURCE]

The article talks about how in Saudi Arabia homosexuality is illegal under sharia, or Islamic Law. The maximum sentence it carries is the death penalty and this is most commonly performed by public beheading. OUCH! That is ridiculous.. Beyond Ridiculous.. I really do hope somewhere in the future things will change for the gays in these countries. Gays are human too silly people!

MILEY SAYS NO TO KATY'S ON SCREEN KISS!

Seems like Katy Perry will not be getting the same-sex lip lock that she wants from Miley Cyrus on the upcoming Teen Choice awards. Miley doesn't look like she is up for the kiss. I guess it's not her thing!

Miley Cyrus says there's no way she's going to be locking lips with Katy Perry at this Sunday's Teen Choice Awards.

The 23-year-old "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker recently said in an interview that she was hoping to snag a same-sex smooch onstage with the 15-year-old Cyrus in the spirit of the infamous Madonna-Britney Spears kiss.

"No thanks," the Hannah Montana star told me yesterday with a laugh. "She sang on my record. So I think she's kind of getting back at me, because she was doing harmonies and backgrounds."

Alright so lets start off with some Gay News.. Well this is just gay because Choire Sicha from RadarOnline.com posted a review of the new Harry Potter trailer, which was just released. She believes that the trailer is quite Gay in the literal sense, Read Below:

RONALDO EYES SCARY MOVIE STAR ANNA FARIS - BUT GETS SNUBBED INSTEAD

Man, This guy just loves the ladies.. He just recently became single and now is eyeing up Anna Faris, who has played Cindy Campbell in the Scary Movie franchise.

Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have been transfixed by Scary Movie star Anna Faris when he saw spotted her at his hotel over the weekend.

The Manchester United star has been staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel in LA while he recovers from his ankle injury.

‘He was doing exercises in the pool for nearly an hour,’ says an onlooker. ‘But then Anna wandered down from the hotel with 2 girlfriends.

‘He stopped and watched Anna as she waited for a table at the café. Ronaldo kept grinning. He was desperate to make eye contact, but she didn’t even acknowledge him.’

RONALDO LOOKING GOLDEN RATHER THAN CRISPY

So it's Monday and we need to cheer up since everyone hates Monday. Well I know I do. My boyfriend had me up at 6:30am this morning because he started his early shift this week. I usually get up at 7:50am. Quite a difference eh?

Anywho.. enough of my complaining. Last week i was posting how burnt to a crip Ronaldo was but looking at these photos it looks like his colour has toned down. Although I am not sure how all this tanning is good for his skin, but he sure does look good sporting the nice golden tan.

TENNESSEE: KILLING SPREE ON GAY INCLUSIVE CHURCH

What is this world coming to? Jim D. Adkisson did not agree with a gay-inclusive church’s “liberal movement” and decided he would start a shooting rampage during Sunday services this weekend, said police. Fifty-eight year old Adkisson allegedly killed two and injured seven early morning during mass.

Later on, a letter was found 4 pages in length indicating that Adkisson was planning this attack for a week.

The shotgun-wielding suspect in Sunday’s mass shooting at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church was motivated by a hatred of “the liberal movement,” and he planned to shoot until police shot him, Knoxville Police Chief Sterling P. Owen IV said this morning.

Jim D. Adkisson, 58, of Powell wrote a four-page letter in which he stated his “hatred of the liberal movement,” Owen said. “Liberals in general, as well as gays.” [SOURCE]

This is nuts. I just heard in Toronto, a church here had a shoot-out as well. Whatever happened to fearing God? Man, I dunno guys.. This world is getting nuts!

NIKE PULLS ANTI GAY ADS

Looks like Nike did get a backlash from their Ad, which shows a BBall player with his *cough cough* junk in another player's face and the saying "That Ain't Right".

The newspaper said controversy arose last week over some advertisements for Nike's new Hyperdunk basketball shoes. The ads were dubbed homophobic by bloggers and critics, the paper said.

Concerns were first raised by the weblog, www.gawker.com, the Oregonian said. The blog post can be seen here sketball.

Under a post titled "Does Nike Hate Gays? Or Do Gays Hate Basketball?" the blog said the ads showed a basketball player's face in the groin area of another player seemingly dunking a ball. Gawker also carried a picture of the ad on the blog.

The picture was accompanied by slogans like "This ain't right" and the blog said the ads appeared offensive to African-Americans too. The two players featured in the picture looked African-American.

"Nike should pull the ads. Or rework them to be friendlier to gay basketball fans, at least," the blog said in its post. [SOURCE]

Ooopsies. I guess I didn't help with my blog too. Well, I dunno if they were really homophobic but in a way they kinda do look like it. Hard to say!

WHITNEY IS BACK BITCHES!

My friend Mike let me know from the Philippines that Whitney's new single leaked on the Internet. He said it was ok but not Fabulous.. But, the Internet is buzzing otherwise. I for one thing have not heard the single yet but will once i get home. I Hope its what she needs to have the comeback we have been waiting for.

“Like I Never Left" is the title of the new song with Akon. Lets hope it's like she never left because this girl deserves another chance!

I wish her and Janet would get together and do a duet.. With Whitneys Vocals and Janet's Beats/Moves we would have definitely have a hit..

BIG BROTHER 10 STEVEN SPEAKS!

Over at AfterElton.com, they sat down with Steven from Big Brother 10 for a little Q&A and see what is brewing in the mind of this season's gay competitor. The interviews goes on about his arguements with Libra to his friendship with Brian. Its actually a good read and you actually get to know more of the guy since he got kicked out quite early in the game. Here is a little tid bit of what the interview looked like:

AfterElton: You stirred up some early controversy when the live feed viewers saw you refer to Libra as “that colored girl”, a term many people find antiquated and insensitive. How would you respond to those who felt that wasn’t your best moment in the house?

Steven Daigle: Wow. Again, I haven’t seen anything so I’m guessing that was taken out of context and I’d love to clarify that real quick. Not to condemn anybody else in the house, but basically the story goes Jerry kept forgetting Libra’s name and kept referring to her as “the colored girl” and I was telling someone – we were actually discussing the fact that someone needed to sit down with him and talk to him and tell him that he probably needed to watch what he was saying, that saying “That colored girl” was probably not a proper way to refer to Libra.
If he can’t remember her name he should not say anything. I hope I don’t come off that way. I’m definitely am guilty of sometimes stereotyping people but I would not have gone around calling Libra “that colored girl”.
